“I feel sorry for the person who can’t get genuinely excited about his work. Not only will he never be satisfied, but he will never achieve anything worthwhile.”—Walter Chrysler (via kari-shma) (via quote-book)
“If you’re really listening, if you’re awake to the poignant beauty of the world, your heart breaks regularly. In fact, your heart is made to break; its purpose is to burst open again and again so that it can hold ever more wonders." Andre”—http://aagblog.com/2010/04/24/8478/
These are a series of drawings by Ulrich Schröder from Elle Spain April 2010. You’ll see Karl Lagerfeld as Goofy, Domenico Dolce as Mickey, Marc Jacobs as Donald Duck, Donatella Versace as Daisy and more!
I want to strip you of your power and then hand it back to you. I want to rise up to meet you, eye to eye, heart to heart, over-fertile mind to over-fertile mind; to shake hands, confer mutual respect, to love, and then to fall back into the pillows and throw all of that away for a brief moment.
I want to pendulate between dominance and submission; to hand my mind over to you willingly, choosing not to use it, and then just as quickly snatch it back when you aren’t looking. I want to surprise you; and I want to try to be ten steps ahead of you, but then fail miserably.
I want to fail at trying to outsmart you.
I want to play ball with our hearts, tossing them back and forth with little regard for their health. I want to open my chest up and let birds fly out of it. I want to us to kneel before each other, filled with fear but also with reverence, and and then hide in each other’s mouths.
I want to think I have a choice in the matter, but I want more to not. This may be my undoing.
